DO
I HAVE TO DRIVE IN FLORIDA?
Well, may be not if you
really don't want to...
If you can't or don't want
to drive we do have an alternative
We have located a local
transportation company which can provide private transport to most places
you may wish to visit
Please ask us if you'd
like some more info about this service for your Florida visit

PRICING
YOUR CAR RENTAL
Have you been to Florida before and rented
a car?
Did you get surprise extra charges on your
credit card statement when you returned home?
If you were supplied with a 'free' rental
car or arranged your own rental, you probably didn't realise how quickly
or how high those insurance and taxes added up...
We have arranged preferential discount
car rental for our website visitors
Their rates are all-inclusive
This means that the rate you see on our
website is the one you pay so it includes all taxes and most insurance
and there are no extra or surprise charges
You may choose either their Fully Inclusive
or Gold options (Gold option includes additional drivers and a full
tank of petrol) and order baby/child seats
|
OUR
TOP TIPS
|
Don't pay extra for car rental
when you can have everything included at a discount price!
Don't get an International driving
licence - you don't need one and most US car rental companies
won't accept them
Make sure everyone who is going
to drive takes their UK driving licence with them
If you forget to take it you won't
be going anywhere because no rental company will let you have
your car...

CHOOSING
YOUR CAR FOR YOUR PARTY SIZE
Each baby or child needs to be allocated
a seat in the vehicle
You will need to rent baby/child seats
(for children up to the age of five) from the rental company as these
are compulsory in Florida
You will need to order these at the time
of booking your car to ensure that they are available when you arrive
|
OUR
TOP TIPS
|
Are there more than 5 in your party?
Do you want to travel to the same
places at the same time?
Then it will be more economical
to rent one larger vehicle rather than two smaller ones (7,
8, 12 and 15 seater vehicles are available)
You can make savings on rental
costs for one vehicle instead of two
It will also save you at least
$7 car parking fee in most of the theme park car parks!

CHOOSING
YOUR CAR FOR YOUR LUGGAGE
US cars tend to have smaller boots (trunks)
than UK cars although their interiors are generally more spacious
If you are taking a lot of luggage, particularly
if this consists of hard suitcases, please note that there are NO roof
racks available from Florida car rental companies
You will have to fit all your luggage inside
your rental car
All car descriptions from our supplier
have detailed information on the number and size of suitcases which
will fit into the boot (trunk)
|
OUR
TOP TIPS
|
Don't put yourself in the position
of having to pay for an expensive car upgrade on arrival just
to get your suitcases to your rental home
Don't take a lot of luggage - you
won't need it & you can save yourself money by renting a
smaller car...

IN-AIRPORT/OFF-AIRPORT
CAR COLLECTION WHAT'S THIS?
You may have heard about the terms 'in-airport'
and 'off-airport' car collection if you've already investigated car
rental elsewhere before getting to this page
IN-AIRPORT
The car rental reception desks are located
inside the terminal building - you just go in the lifts to these and
then walk across the road to the car rental parking area to pick up
your car
OFF-AIRPORT
The car rental reception desks are located
within the airport vicinity but you need to get a (usually free) transfer
coach to reach this - the cars are picked up from a compound area
If you have heavy suitcases, or have kids
or the elderly in your party, you will all probably be tired after your
flight
Getting your suitcases on and off a coach
and ensuring you've got everybody may be just too much effort...
Remember too that you will need to use
the process in reverse when you return home
|
OUR
TOP TIPS
|

company for your car rental or not...ask whether they have in-airport
or off-airport collection
Our suppliers provide

Alamo, Americar,
Anchor, Arrival, Carl's Rent a Van, Eagle, Enterprise, E-Z,
Florida Auto, Global, Hertz, Interamerican, Payless, Preferred,

FLORIDA
DRIVING TIPS
Driving in the USA is more relaxed than
in the UK or Europe but, of course, they drive on the 'wrong' side of
the road...
All rental cars are automatic, most have
electric windows and central locking - but some have different handbrake
arrangements from those in use in UK
Before driving your rental car away from
the car collection area, make sure that you know how the all controls
work - if you have any doubts, please ask the staff
Some rental car doors automatically lock
when you reach a certain speed - if your car doesn't have this facility,
you will need to do this for yourself
Also keep your windows shut for security
- your car's air conditioning will work more efficiently this way too...
All passengers must wear a seat belt
Carry your driving licence and car rental
documents with you at all times
Do not let anyone drive who is not authorised
to do so on your car rental agreement
It is Florida law that you must turn on
your headlights when you use your windscreen wipers
|
OUR
TOP TIPS
|
If you are visiting
and parking at one of the theme parks, be warned that the car
parks are GIGANTIC
Make sure that you
write down exactly where you parked your car (Mickey row 3 or
whatever) or you will spend hours trying to find it again!
Kissimmee has a system of guide
marker posts in both directions on Highway 192
Try to pick up a
guide marker map (available free at restaurants, where you will
also find booklets containing information/money saving coupons
for restaurants, etc) and you will find it easier to locate
specific places using the guide marker numbers
