OSBORNE FAMILY LIGHTS CANCELLED It has just been announced that the Osborne Family Lights display will not be available at Christmas 2003 This is because the area is being refurbished for a new attraction at Disney MGM Studios The lights will be back again for Christmas 2004 SMOKING BAN INTRODUCED Florida State introduced a complete smoking ban in all public indoor venues, ie restaurants, etc If you wish to smoke, you will need to do so outside CYPRESS GARDENS CLOSES Unfortunately Cypress Gardens have now closed due to financial reasons This is a shame as it was a beautiful park with a magnificent flower display, water ski show, etc and also very popular for weddings DISNEY 100 YEARS OF MAGIC Disney has extended it's 100 Years of Magic celebration of Walt Disney's birth until the end of February 2003 If you missed it, you'll get an extended opportunity to catch up with the special events CHANGES AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Universal Studios have announced that their Hanna Barbera ride and Alfred Hitchcock show will close BOK TOWER GARDENS This park will close for six months for refurishment and should therefore re-open for visitors again in early 2003 OUR UPDATED RESPONSE TIMES Our response times are now back to normal and we again aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours OUR RESPONSE TIMES Our normal response times will be delayed between mid April to mid May If you have an urgent query which will not wait, please use our voicemail numbers If you are in the UK our voicemail number is 07092 181559 If you are in the USA our voicemail number is 1 (646) 328-1097 SHARK FEEDING BAN Were you thinking of diving with sharks in Florida? The boat trip organisers are no longer allowed to feed sharks to attract them to dive sites Please check that your planned trip to dive with sharks is still operational with the organisers ONLY A FEW HOMES LEFT FOR EASTER If you're thinking of visiting and celebrating Easter in Florida, please be warned that we have only a few of our great homes still available Please...don't leave it until they've all gone - these available homes and dates won't last long before they're sold! VANS SKATE PARK OPENS This park opened on 12 January and has skate boarding, roller blading and BMX facilities It's located near the Belz Factory Outlet - check out Our links to look at their website Are your kids into this or perhaps you're just young at heart? You can rent skate boards or roller blades...these cost non-members $8 from 10am - 2.15pm and $10 afterwards - you can also rent safety equipment (pads, helmets, etc) December 2001 Visiting Disney MGM Studios this Christmas/New Year? Don't miss the Osborne Family Lights (on the Back Lot Tour site) which switches on at 6 pm daily 5 million (yes, million) fairy lights in a spectacular display plus 'pretend' snow! You've gotta see it to believe it... WALT DISNEY WORLD It's the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney's birth and Disney is celebrating...! Are you a diabetic? Sharp objects (knives, nail clippers, etc) are currently banned in hand luggage - but you can pack them in cargo hold luggage If you need injectable medication during your flight, the US Federal Aviation Authority has issued new guidelines for you... It's always wise to get a letter signed by your doctor (or diabetes care team) to take with you stating that you need your medication or insulin and blood glucose testing equipment with you during your flight But the FAA has also decided that you need to take your medication or insulin in its original packaging box with the pharmacy or doctor's label on it VIRGIN EARLY CHECK-IN FACILITY AT DOWNTOWN DISNEY We have been informed that this facility has been suspended until further notice in response to additional security measures for air travellers Those of you returning to the UK with Virgin will now need to check-in for your flight at Orlando International Airport GOLF EQUIPMENT We have read recently in the press that airline passengers can no longer take their golf clubs on flights If you were taking your golf clubs on your flight please check this out with your airline You can still play golf in Florida without your own clubs... Check out our Great golf page as we have arranged free golf club rental for our guests BUSCH GARDENS This is at Tampa which is about a 1.5 - 2 hour drive from the Orlando area Want to visit Busch Gardens but don't want to drive there? If you have a 5 park flex ticket you can get local coach transport free from various Orlando/Kissimmee locations - the normal price is $5 each
